Gone......For Now?

Thank you to everyone who has been a listener over the past couple of years. Due to Cumberland County, TN emergency services recently encrypting their radios, I've temporarily disabled this site.

There's a lot of political discussion and outrage around this move by the public services. Some local hobbyists have decided they're going to push the legal limits on this situation and broadcast the system anyway. I'm not sure what permissions these other scanners have, but I fail to understand why these transmissions would be encrypted only to give random people the keys and tools to decrypt and put them back online anyway. It wouldn't make sense to me to invest that time and money for no reason. It seems like things we do as a society (especially in government) make less sense to me every day though, so who am I to say?

Regardless of whether this is being done legitimately or illegally, I personally do not have access to the encryption keys for the system and have no intention of stepping on toes to get it. This is only a fun hobby for me, and it has never been my intention to cause harm or inconvenience to those who broadcast the signals I scanned. I play with electronics, not political movements.

A big thanks to everyone who has come along for the ride, as well as to the brave men and women of the Cumberland County, TN emergency services who protect, serve, treat and save us every day. I may rebrand the site eventually when I have useful content to provide, but for now I'm taking down the site and leaving you all my thanks.
